The World is Mine

by Yuki Okumura

No one knows since when, but the “self” of each of us has been traveling directly between two opposite poles: the “close area” consisting of family, friends, lovers and such and the “distant area” consisting of quantum, space, truth, life, death and such. In this framework, “the world,” including “society,” “others” and “body”, only appears to us to be an unreachable “view” out of our never opened windows.

We know that none of us can commune anymore with “others,” nor go back anymore to “the world” as a member of it, and at the same time, that the space in which we physically live cannot be anywhere but “the world” itself.

Keeping a silly dream of reaching out to it, although we know the dream will never come true, we stretch our arms outwards - so egoistically and even romantically.
